[Chobeolbi - The Divine Raindrop] - The 1st Album release Celebration Concert
Hong Sung Hyun's "Chobeolbi" project began in 2011 and seeks a new form of creative music centered on percussion with traditional melodic instruments as a backdrop, departing from the conventional structure where melodic instruments were accompanied by percussion. "Chobeolbi," which signifies a single rain shower that falls for the first time, is meant to create music that resonates with the public, washes away weariness, and provides solace, much like the first rain.
"The Divine Raindrop" represents the first tangible result of these continuous creative endeavors and musical contemplations. The name conveys the idea that the presence of "rain," which quenches the earth's thirst and nurtures it, is a blessing from the divine. "The Divine Raindrop" became the project's first repertoire, showcasing its potential in 2015, and it garnered praise from world music experts worldwide through an official showcase at the 2016 Asia-Pacific Music Meeting (APaMM). In 2017, it toured various cities in the United States, alongside events like the "World Music Festival Chicago" and Canada's "Small World Music Festival."
This album includes all the tracks from the "The Divine Raindrop" repertoire, serving as a commemoration of the project's past activities and musical accomplishments and the celebration concert of the release of the first album of "Chobeolbi," which contains the "The Divine Raindrop" repertoire, marking the beginning of a new season for the project. It also provided an opportunity to celebrate the past activities and musical achievements of Hong Sung Hyun Art Company, sharing warm and intimate musical stories with the loyal audience who has supported the artist throughout the years.
