< Drift Wind – Songs for the Mountain >, so called San Ta Ryeong in Korean, presents the tastes of arts of the times which have been called from mouth to mouth for a long time until now. San Ta Ryeong has been passed on orally by the troops of travelling actors and besides preserving the original, there are not many attempts to modernized the repertoire. San Ta Ryeong is one of the most important communication media of the past as it is a representative folk song (Minyo) to express the custom of the life through play and we have come to rethink the meaning of San Ta Ryeong as a medium of communication, seeing the tastes of arts of the younger generation projected through SNS media such as facebook and instagram today. Based on what we think of as modern trend, modern plays, we connect the past and present with the current trend through < Drift Wind – Songs for the Mountain > and express the music of the past with modern sensibilities. In particular, San Ta Ryeong has a wide range of musical variations and directionality, and the boundaries between Gyeonggi (The central region of Korea) and the West are ambiguous. To preserve these characteristics, Aengbi introduces sound art to transform their own young and experimental repertoire that across time and space.
